Our Mission in Action
Assist individuals with developmental disabilities and other groups needing assistance meeting their needs in ways they prefer.
Service Coordination’s primary role is to arrange supports and services for individuals with developmental disabilities that each individual has had a voice in defining and directing for themselves.
Becoming Active Members of their Communities
Service Coordination supports individuals to live in the mainstream of social, political, civic and economic community life. Service coordinators support each individual in developing and implementing a plan that facilitates daily living routines, good physical health, employment, education, leisure activity, strong personal relationships, and access to arts, culture, sports, travel, etc. in the most autonomous and affordable way.
With Equal Rights and Responsibilities
Service Coordination believes in an inclusive society where individuals with disabilities are fully integrated and are free from discrimination. We foster societal attitudes to promote the rights of individuals with developmental disabilities for personal autonomy and independence. We encourage every part of the public, private and nonprofit sector to adapt in ways that enable every adult to participate in and contribute to a democratic way of life.
We help people develop and obtain high quality supports and services that are the least intrusive to meet their desires and needs and support their personal goals.
Service Coordination seeks to understand individual preferences and incorporate personal wishes and desires into the right combination of paid and volunteer supports that enables each individual to live a full and fulfilled life that is self-directed.
We believe that each person’s values, dignity, happiness, and rights must be respected.
Service Coordination has a partnership with each individual. In this relationship we offer assistance in ways that exemplify fair treatment, provide objective information, create understanding about options and consequences, and explore new opportunities with a safety net.
